The Australian United
Fresh Transport Advisory Council Ltd
(AUFTAC Ltd) was incorporated in November, 1998, four years after it
was formed under the auspices of the Australia United Fresh Fruit and
Vegetable Association (AUF). AUFTAC provides a forum for the
horticultural transport sector, working collectively to promote,
improve and add value to the commercial businesses that form the
foundation of its membership and provide the horticultural industry
with distribution services.
With
membership drawn predominantly from the road transport
manufacturers and carriers, AUFTAC LTD is fully autonomous
and generates all its funding requirements through
membership subscriptions and sale of its products. The
activities of the group are managed by a Board elected by
the members annually. Face-to-face quarterly meetings are
held at different national locations to foster involvement
by all members. AUFTAC membership is continuing to grow with
several new members joining in the last 12 months. The
Criteria for membership is : "Any Company whose primary role
is to operate a business focussed on the transportation of
horticultural products". |
